The Lord Takes Such Good Care of Me: God Loves Us All Equally (Genesis 48:13-19)

“The Lord is my Shepherd. He’s all that I need.” – Colby’s Clubhouse πŸ‘ Dear belittled baby, At some point in our lives, we think we’re small. Some of you might have wished they’re literally tall. Many of us want to be better. The ambitious dreams to be bigger. The poor hopes to be richer. The child waits to be older. If we look at the Bible, the younger is actually more favored than the older. Between the first two children on earth, the offering of the younger was regarded by God. Well, this was because Abel offered a more acceptable sacrifice. Between the sons of Isaac, the Lord said the older shall serve the younger. Between the daughters of Laban, which Jacob both married, he loved the younger over the older. Among his 12 sons, Jacob favored Joseph, the penultimate. Now, let’s look at Joseph’s sons. Genesis 48:13-19 (NASB) 13 And Joseph took them both, Ephraim with his right hand toward Israel’s left, and Manasseh with his left hand toward Israel’s right, and brought t

Shout Your Fame: Sharing God’s Message (Genesis 37:5-11)

“I will shout Your fame to all the earth, I will lift Your name on high...” – Hillsong Worship πŸ“’ Dear gift grabber, Have you received too much of something that you have to give some away? Or have you noticed whether you just keep receiving? Think taking and not giving back is okay? When something’s too good, we can’t keep it to ourselves. We just have to tell somebody. See in the passage how Jacob’s son did just that. Genesis 37:5-11 (NKJV) 5 Now Joseph had a dream, and he told it to his brothers; and they hated him even more. 6 So he said to them, “Please hear this dream which I have dreamed: 7 There we were, binding sheaves in the field. Then behold, my sheaf arose and also stood upright; and indeed your sheaves stood all around and bowed down to my sheaf.” 8 And his brothers said to him, “Shall you indeed reign over us? Or shall you indeed have dominion over us?” So they hated him even more for his dreams and for his words. 9 Then he dreamed still another dre

Truth Be Told: Little Lies Aren’t Pretty (Genesis 27:19-25)

“But truth be told, the truth is rarely told.” – Matthew West πŸ”’ Dear possible pretender, Got a secret? Hid something you regret? Told someone you’re fine when you’re negative nine? Didn't raise your hand when the speaker asked for any who didn’t understand? It would be a lie if you say you didn’t deceive at least once in your life. Even the patriarchs of the Bible did it. Abraham lied saying his wife was his sister (Genesis 20). Isaac did the same thing (Genesis 26). Now it’s Jacob’s turn. Genesis 27:19-25 (NKJV) 19 Jacob said to his father, “I am Esau your firstborn; I have done just as you told me; please arise, sit and eat of my game, that your soul may bless me.” 20 But Isaac said to his son, “How is it that you have found it so quickly, my son?” And he said, “Because the Lord your God brought it to me.” 21 Isaac said to Jacob, “Please come near, that I may feel you, my son, whether you are really my son Esau or not.” 22 So Jacob went near to Isaac his fath

Jehovah-Jireh: The Lord Will Provide (Genesis 22:6-14)

“Jehovah-Jireh, my provider—His grace is sufficient for me, for me, for me!” – Don Moen 🎁 Dear wealth wisher, Are you desiring for dough? To grab that gold, will you go? Life is more than money—this do you know? Sure, we need it to survive, but it’s not the reason we’re alive. We were made by God to love. Among His commands, it’s raised above. We must love God and our neighbor. Follow this and you’ll find favor. But what if God commands you to give up your loved one? It’s better said than done. Still, when you love anything more than the Lord, your place in heaven is not even one floorboard. Let’s take a look at one great example of giving up a loved one to God. Genesis 22:6-14 (KJ2000) 6 And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife; and they went both of them together. 7 And Isaac spoke unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the

Genuine: The Realities of Christianity (Genesis 15:5-7, 13-16)

“What He has is something genuine… Who He is is Someone real.” – Stacie Orrico πŸ’Ž Dear truth tracker, If you’re looking for something to hold on to, it’s Jesus Christ, the only One who’s true. He’s the Truth, so anything against Him won’t prevail. Anything not of Him will fail. Previously, I talked about God’s promises to Abram. Now, we come to a chapter that tells of truths in God’s Word, both spoken and written. At that point in time, Jesus Christ wasn’t known, but we will look at the passage with Christianity as the focus. Genesis 15:5-7, 13-16 (NKJV) 5 Then He brought him outside and said, “Look now toward heaven, and count the stars if you are able to number them.” And He said to him, “So shall your descendants be.” 6 And he believed in the LORD, and He accounted it to him for righteousness. 7 Then He said to him, “I am the LORD, who brought you out of Ur of the Chaldeans, to give you this land to inherit it.” 13 Then He said to Abram: “Know certainly that your descen
